Despite being popular, the only Ito’s work that has received an anime adaptation remains Gyo (which is interesting by itself), and Ito’s relation with anime remains relevant because of the new adaptation of some of his stories that has been announced some time ago. For once, Junji Ito is a name you probably encountered if you’ve had any opportunity to familiarize with horror manga. Still, there are a number of reasons why Gyo is worth investigating.
First of all – why is Gyo important? It isn’t, really.
